Decent speed for a staying test over two and a half miles with Carmers and Trawlerman pressing for prominent positions. Scandinavia is searching for a hat-trick after two wins in Ireland over 2816m. This is a big jump in grade and distance so I'm prepared to be against him at 2/1. Trawlerman resumes from a longer break than expected after battling with a rare eye issue. Last year he rated 116 (winning by seven lengths) which was one of the highest ratings recorded in the database. His sustained speed and staying power delivered a dominant victory and a new course record. Knowing what Trawlerman is capable of, I'm happy to be with him at 3/1 on top of the ground. Quite a few of these runners are questionable at the distance. TRAWLERMAN (6) Back after a 34 week spell. Left nothing to chance when winning by 1 1/2L last start at this track and gets a favourable stall. Should be going forward early. Sure to be thereabouts. SCANDINAVIA (10) Got the upper hand late when winning by 1/2L last run at Leopardstown and stepping up in distance. Flying this preparation with 2 wins from as many runs. Must respect. RAHIEBB (9) Was first to greet the judge when winning by 2 1/4L last start at York and stepping up in trip. Has the speed to overcome the wide stall. Will be around the mark at odds. SWEET WILLIAM (5) Close up last run at Sandown but challenged by a tougher grade. Been in the money each start this preparation. Chance.
